What Training Have Our Peer Supporters Received?
Peer supporters with Foundations & Pathways Ottawa (FPO) have received 30+ hours of training. Training topics included:
FPO worked with local facilitators of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) to deliver this training for FPO's Peer Supporters on December 2nd and 3rd 2017. This 2-day MHFA workshop was tailored to centre the experiences of trans and gender diverse people.
On January 20th and 21st, 2018, all Peer Supporters will attend a 2-day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshop. "ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety (from LivingWorks website)."
